The Rila View Chalets are a new build situated in Dolno Draglishte, a village in a valley at the base of the Rila Mountains. The property is comprised of two large buildings, the first split into two chalets A & B each with 4 bedrooms, two wet rooms and a ground floor toilet. The second building chalet C is not yet available for rent. The Chalets are surrounded by a stone walled garden with a shared, roofed BBQ area. There is wood stored beneath a large carport.

The property is owned by an English couple who fell in love with the region ten years ago and is managed locally by an English couple who have lived in the region for the past 7 years and run an airport transfer business in the winter, and mountain biking in the summer months.

Getting There

There are many flights both with scheduled and low cost airlines to Sophia 160 km or alternatively to Thessaloniki (Greece) 217km. Car hire is easily available at both airports with a transfer time of 2hrs from Sofia and 2 ½ hours from Thessaloniki. Alternatively our neighbours run a transfer business (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and car hire can also be arranged in Bansko and Razlog.

The main road E79 from Sofia to Kulata on the border with Greece is being upgraded to motorway and is complete to near Dupnica. At Simitli turn onto the recently upgraded road (19) which gently rises up to the mountain valley, turn left onto the Velingrad road (84) continue for 4 km turn left signed Dobarsko, Gorno Draglishte and Dolno Draglishte.

Local information

Dolno Draglishte is located in the mountainous South West region of Bulgaria, 15 km from Bansko, an ideal location for access to both Summer and Winter activities.

Bulgarian is the language spoken in the region. Many business owners also speak English and Russian, and the local population will always attempt to help!

The currency is Leva, with approximately 2 Leva = 1Euro.

The regions climate varies considerably from Summer to Winter with temperatures reaching from minus 20°C in the depths of the Winter to between 30 - 40°C in the Summer months.
